Longford v Rovers: This Saturday

Sligo Rovers return from another two-week break for a trip to Longford Town this Saturday night.

It will be the first away game for The Bit o’Red since the trip to Finn Harps on June 3.

Rovers can aim to make it back-to-back wins for the fourth time in the 2016 SSE Airtricty League season having beaten St. Pat’s at The Showgrounds last time out 1-0.

The goal in that game came from top scorer Raff Cretaro.

When bottom-club Longford Town came to visit Sligo previously this year Rovers won 3-0 with goals from both Jordan Richards and Raff Cretaro.

In 2015 Rovers went to Longford twice and got 1-1 draws in both games. It’s a venue that The Bit o’Red haven’t lost in in a Premier Division game and not overall since 1989.

With sixth placed St. Pat’s not playing this weekend Rovers can move into the top half with a good result at City Calling Stadium.

The game will kick-off at 7:30pm.
