Rovers v Pats: This Saturday

Sligo Rovers take on St. Patrick’s Athletic this Saturday night at The Showgrounds.

The game will be only The Bit o’Red’s second in the last five weeks due to the mid-season break and the postponement of last week’s game in Cork.

Rovers will be looking to keep up the strong run at The Showgrounds which has seen no home defeats since the opening weekend of the season.

That is now a run of eight home games following a draw last time out with Bray Wanderers.

It is the longest unbeaten run since the end of the 2013 season and longer than any team currently in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

A move into the top half of the table with a win is a possibility. Rovers are one point behind Bohs who have played an extra game while three points would bring Dave Robertson on level points with St. Pat’s in sixth and Galway United in fifth (should they lose to Finn Harps on Friday).

The game could be the first opportunity to see new signing Daniel Kearns in action if his registration comes through after the former Peterborough United star joined The Bit o’Red this week.

Kick-off is at the usual time of 7:45 for our last Saturday night Showgrounds game until August 27.

Tickets will be €15 for adults, €10 for students/OAPs and €5 for kids under 12.
