The last Bit o’Red hat-trick was scored in a game against Galway United at The Showgrounds. It was scored by Matthew Blinkhorn. He scored in the 27th, 55th and 89th minutes of the 7-1 win.

It was his second of the year against the same opposition having registered a triple in the 8-0 away win against Galway in July of 2010.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw with moth goals scored in the 16th minute. Rovers’ former player Ryan Connolly scored first but Dinny Corcoran scored the level the game as he had also done away to Galway in a win at Eamonn Deacy Park earlier in the season.
