Rovers v Wexford Youths: Opposition

Wexford Youths travel to The Showgrounds tomorrow for the first ever meeting between the two sides.

Youths secured promotion to the Premier Division for the first time in 2015, having joined the League of Ireland in 2007.

Tomorrow’s visitors to The Showgrounds have endured a difficult start to the season, losing six games, drawing three and winning just one.

Shane Keegan has held on to the majority of the squad that won promotion last season, and one of the new faces at Ferrycarrig this year is a familiar one to fans of the Bit o’Red.

Danny Ledwith joined the books at Youths this season, having spent two seasons at The Showgrounds, playing his part in the 2014 Setanta Cup win.

On the other side, Rovers’ Jimmy Keohane made his League of Ireland debut with the Youths in 2009. The Kilkenny man spent one year there before sealing a move to Bristol City in August 2010.
