Dundalk 0-3 Rovers; Robbo's Verdict

Dave Robertson was delighted to take a win away from home to Dundalk and enjoyed both the defensive performance as well as taking three chances.

The clean sheet made it four in a row, all for keeper Ciaran Nugent since he came in to cover for the injury to Micheal Schlingermann.

This aspect of the team performance was on that Robertson relished:

“It’s good to get three points. I thought we showed a real good defensive resilience tonight. We came to the home of the champions and won 3-0. It’s great to put four clean sheets in a row. We took our goals really well against a team that don’t concede often. There’s a lot of pleasing aspects."

He continued by stating that a result like this shows the potential in his squad which can be further shown next year:

“There’s a good thing here that can be developed even further next year. I asked the players to show that we can be a team to be reckoned with next year and I feel that we’ve done that by taking three points here away at Oriel Park.

“Sometimes you can look at football and it can frustrate you and make you want to pull your hair out. But the bottom line is I have got real faith in this group of players and what they are capable of."
