Place signs new contract

 

Sligo Rovers are delighted to have signed Mikey Place to a contract for a further year.

There is also an option to extend the contract with the striker for another season to the end of 2018.

The 18 year-old is one of several players in the first team squad to have come through to the first team from the Sligo Rovers underage system.

Place is in his first season with the first team after signing his first professional contract in January this year.

A first team debut for Place came early in the season in the game away to St. Pat’s.

The Galway player has totalled five appearances for the season so far including playing against Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers and Cork City.

He has also impressed when featuring with the udner-19 squad with 12 goals this year.

Place is the latest part in the building of the squad for the 2017 season which now totals nine players.

Craig Roddan, Micheal Schlingermann, Gary Boylan, Kieran Sadlier, Gary Armstrong, Daniel Kearns, Raff Cretaro and Tobi Adebayo-Rowling have already been signed.
