Message from the manager - Gerard Lyttle

Yesterday we signed our 15th player of the squad for 2018 in Raff Cretaro. I feel we've made good progress and there are a number of similar characteristics in all of the players recruited. They are hungry, talented and they are players not thinking that they are coming to a club where life is made comfortable and they can just enjoy a season here at such a welcoming club.

We want to improve all areas of what we do as I said on that final night in Drogheda. That work is ongoing. The players have been given their off-season programme and are currently in the process of it. We have pre-season plans in the offing but we'll not announce details just yet as we finalise logistical details.

In the final stages of the completing the squad, we are looking for even more quality. I feel in the work done so far we have improved in many areas, kept a strong spine of our squad and we need to finish that off. We all saw the benefit of the recruitments in July where competition multiplied and the talent we had in reserve drove everyone on when we were without players and helped us go on such a strong run.

I am exploring every avenue, utilising contacts we have home and abroad and my own, and while it is difficult given some of the clubs in Europe have a stronger financial footing, I feel we can have a really good group and can build on the way we finished 2017.

I want to thanks the supporters for their backing in the time I've been here so far.  They have offered inspiration to all of us here in The Showgrounds in good times and bad this year. A prosperous new year is what I'm striving for in these final days of 2017. We can't wait to welcome you all on board next year again.

Message from the chairman - Martin Heraghty

As Christmas approaches, I want to pass on the best wishes to our supporters and a happy time with their family and friends. We have faced many challenges in 2017 and rose to them as the year went on when our status in the division was under threat.

Fundraisers were backed to a new level of success and it can be a proud achievement for how this club rallies when up against it.

Our goal is get back to higher level and the 2017 committee is deep into planning for 2018 even in these final days before the holidays.

Our Christmas draw will take place on 23 December, To purchase tickets, go here or buy from any Sligo Rovers committee member or our club store in Barton Smiths.
