Five star Rovers shoot down Defence Forces

Sligo Rovers returned to the Showgrounds in winning fashion as the Bit O'Red beat a Defence Forces XI 5-0.
 
Raffaele Cretaro, Kieran Sadlier and Mathew Stevens added to Chris Kenny's brace. Rovers securing their first home victory of 2017.
 
It was Cretaro who handed Rovers the lead on 11. The striker nodding home Daniel Kearns' cross after Jonah Ayunga did well to keep the ball in play. 
 
Rovers had their second on the stroke of half-time having peppered the opposition goal.
 
Chris Kenny firing past Stephen Walsh in the Defence Forces for his first of the night.
 
 
Two became three on 67. Sadlier finding the bottom corner after Stevens was fouled inside the 'D'. 
 
Stevens got on the score-sheet himself three minutes from time, before Kenny netted his second in injury time with a well timed header.
