#UpBitored at €31,000

The #UpTheBitored fund is now at €31,000 with the group set to have a presence at the match with Derry City on Friday in The Showgrounds.

We are a group of 13 supporters, working in association with the Sligo Rovers Committee.

Our fundraising project will continue until the end of March.

We recognise this is going to be a very important season for manager, Gerard Lyttle and the club.  We are determined to break out of the cycle of battling to avoid relegation.

Three successive years of struggle, without the financial windfall of European football, leave the club with debts of 180,000 euro.  Our aim is to raise as much as possible before the end of March to ease the financial pressure.  We want to give Gerard Lyttle and his squad the best chance of succeeding in what is a very competitive league.

Supporters are responding to our appeal for help, according to their means.  Contributions range from 5,000 euro to 10 euro.  Every donation is welcome and we pledge that all funds received will be publicly acknowledged on the website.

In 2015 several of our group were involved in the Rally Around The Rovers (RAR) campaign.  Donors to that drive received a specially commissioned RAR souvenir badge.  We are now commissioning a Car Sticker, with the slogan, ‘I’m a Sligo Rovers Fan’ - UTBOR 2018’ and plan to give one to every individual who donates to our current campaign.  We hope that in Australia, the United States,  the UK as well as in every part of Ireland, vehicles with a Sligo Rovers fan inside will be instantly recognisable.

The full record of those who have already contributed to the Up The Bit O’ Red campaign is given below.  It will be updated on the Sligo Rovers website next week.  Again, thank you for your ongoing support.

Contributions can be made in several ways, including at the match this Friday vs Derry or Monday vs Cork where a table will be present with members
