Martin is a winger from Donegal who began his career at The Showgrounds back in 2011 as part of the club’s first under-19 squad having been awarded a scholarship in conjunction with IT Sligo.

The 21 year-old broke into the first team in 2011 making his debut in a 5-0 win over Dundalk in October of that year.

In August 2012 he began his initial spell with Ballinamallard on a season-long loan and returned in time for the 2013 season having played in 27 games and scored twice for the Irish Premier League club.

He played more regularly during 2013 and made 18 appearances during the season scoring his first Bit o’Red goal in a Setanta Sports Cup win against Glentoran. His appearances included one against Molde in the UEFA Champions League.

Ballinamallard signed Martin permanently in January 2014 and in the two years since he has contributed 14 goals from his 82 games at Ferney Park.

He was recognised by both players and fans as the club’s Player of the Year for the 2015/15 season and is their top scorer thus far in this season.

Martin has also represented Ireland at under-17 level earlier in his career.
