Raffaele Cretaro is a living legend at Sligo Rovers Football Club and is currently the second highest appearance holder in our history.

The Tubbercurry Tornado netted famously twice in the match that won Rovers the league against St Patrick's Athletic as the SSE Airtricity League trophy returned to Sligo for the first time in 35 years.

The previous campaign, Cretaro scored the winning penalty against Shelbourne in the FAI Cup final in the Aviva Stadium. Last season, Cretaro bagged another FAI Cup winners' medal in the win over Drogheda United.

The South Sligo native is in his third spell at the club having re-joined from Bohs in 2011. He also spent a spell with Galway United in 2006.

He is the third highest scorer in Rovers history.

Cretaro is also currently a coach with Rovers under-19 team.
